Wedding Rental

Since a wedding is a one time event many of the items you will use probably should be rented if at all possible. Certainly high cost items such as tables, chairs, sound systems, and linens should be rented.  Wedding rentals will help to greatly reduce your costs in certain areas so you can go full tilt in areas that you really want to stand out.

One thing I would strongly recommend is to first ask your friends and relatives what items they have. Many will have things like punch bowls, cloth napkins, tablecloths and other items that you can use for free further reducing your rental costs.

You will probably begin your rental adventure with the phone book locating stores in your local area. Next you need to visit the rental store and see what they have and most importantly you need to see what shape things are in. If they have dingy linens why would you pay for something like that? Are tables and chairs chipped or broken? If you have first class linens these will hide less than ideal tables and chairs but these need to be spectacular. If the chairs are not in good shape you may need chair covers. If they look great you may be able to just use a chair sash bow on them.

Once you select your rental items you will generally have to make a deposit. This is about one third of the total cost. As with any other vendor you need to check references on the rental store and also the Better Business Bureau. You also need to make sure delivery is included and if not find a reputable deliver company.

Finally be sure pickup has been arranged for all your wedding rentals. If you rent a venue they will charge you if the rentals are not picked up in a timely manner. Have the pickup arranged prior to the ceremony.
